Is the Angel Abductor Back in Action?

Deb’s Dozen: Nikki Boyd’s Search for Her Sister’s Kidnapper is Over—Or Is It?

Special Agent Nikki Boyd and her best friend’s husband, Tyler, are rappelling down cliffs to remember Katie on the first anniversary of her death. Nikki carries the guilt of thinking she could have somehow prevented her sister’s kidnapping many years before, and Tyler feels guilty for Katie’s death while they were out on their boat—he should have been above deck with her instead of below.

After a near miss on the rocks, they’re just starting to relax when Nikki is called in on a case of a missing teenager. She’s never far away from Sarah’s kidnapping in her mind, and this new case brings everything back. Tyler volunteers to help and they’re off into the Smoky Mountains searching for the missing girl. Their first clue is a Polaroid picture of Bridget—left for them to find—just like the Polaroid left of Sarah all those years ago. Is the Angel Abductor back?

They pour through all the documentation of the Angel Abductor cases—frantically looking for something they may have missed. In the meantime, the villain is taunting Nikki, causing her to doubt her abilities to be effective on the case. Tyler, steady and strong, is with her every step of the way.

Vendetta is a twisty, turny, macabre story with surprises (including a black bear) around every tree. If the criminal one of them? How does he know so much about what they’re doing? And how does he know so much about all of their pasts? I loved the book so much; I kept stopping reading, so the pleasure of the chase would last longer. Vendetta (The Nikki Boyd Files Book #1): A Novel, earns five stars!
